So Mother’s Day has come and gone. It wasn’t the same without the man who made me a mom. We went to church. We ate at my favorite restaurant, Konomi. And we visited Doug’s grave site. At his site I added a new Monster drink (his favorite), a marbleized picture of he and the boys, and the boys each added a pinwheel. Doug and I were never huge gift givers for holidays; our thoughts were if there was something we wanted that we could afford it doesn’t have to be given on a holiday. Last year he let the boys pick out the gifts they gave me and they were so very proud. Think the each gave me a My Little Pony while grinning from ear to ear because all mommies must love my little ponies. This year there was nothing that was picked out from Doug and the boys together. I will say someone or some people anonymously left 2 cards to me from “the boys” at the boys’ school with gift cards in them. Of course I cried. The fact that Doug wasn’t here to do something but that someone took that upon themselves to do…
