Older post, originally written June 20th:

Today I was off and will be working Saturday instead. It was nice to have a weekday off. My mom and I took the boys to the splash pad for some fun. It was slammed packed (in the middle of the week, mind you), but they had a blast. Aunt Mimi was there with her mom and nieces, so it was nice to see a familiar face in the crowd. Sure, there was some chaos with forming a line at the slide, as kids like to break in line. Then there was a large 10 year old who decided to slide down the toddler sized slide before Braddock was off, thus getting an earful from this protective momma bear and the splash pad guard. And there was the incident where the boys were playing in the mud and we got in trouble by the guard. I have no idea what they were thinking having a massive bucket dump water on grass every few minutes and think that kids won’t play in the permanent mud. Its not like I was thrilled that my kids were in the mud. But they were happy and that’s my goal with some rare play time with them.

Seriously, what 2 year old boy would not love this mud?:
