So its the small things that make me happy with the boys’ speech development. Like yesterday at the campsite an airplane flew over, and Sawyer pointed and said “air-pane!” I have never questioned how smart my boys were, I just knew that their twin talk would be a setback in their learning “real language”. I praised Sawyer and he pointed out several more airplanes throughout the day. Braddock did as well later in the day, which was a result of him seeing brother get so much praise. Such smart boys.
Today the speech therapists came to our house to evaluate the boys. Their verdict was that the boys did not qualify because in some categories they were even above normal. They did acknowledge that the boys were actively speaking twin talk. This is good news. I think. I was hoping for a quick fix so that the boys could be more verbal with me, but we will just keep working with them on our own.
